Green-Economy Jobs Report

The Green-Economy Jobs Report provides a complete overview of private- and public-sector green jobs in Washington state. Topics include education and experience requirements, necessary job skills and industries with green jobs.


The Green-Economy Jobs Report is a comprehensive look at statewide private- and public-sector green jobs. We produce the report in accordance with the state’s Evergreen Jobs Act (RCW 43.330.370).

What is a green job?

Green jobs promote environmental protection and clean energy by:

  • Increasing energy efficiency.

  • Producing renewable energy.

  • Preventing and reducing environmental pollution.

  • Providing mitigation or cleanup of environmental pollution.

What is the data source of the report?

We survey firms in private- and public-sector industries. We use data from the survey results to build estimates presented in the report.

How often is the green-economy jobs report published?

Every two years.

Request a report

Reports are maintained on our site for four years. Electronic versions of older reports are available by sending an email to LMPA@esd.wa.gov. Include your name and the report’s name and year.
