Aug 22 2017    Seneca Foods - Opportunity to Request a Public Comment Period for a Notice of Construction Application
Seneca Foods requests approval to increase capacity, add seed drying capabilities, and change seed fumigation practices for insect control at the Dayton facility. Installation of two new baghouses are proposed to control particulate matter emissions from seed receiving and processing. A public comment period on a draft air permit will only be held if Ecology receives a written request by August 22, 2017.

This legal agreement requires the City of Olympia to conduct a remedial investigation and a feasibility study. These studies will define the nature and extent of site contamination and examine possible cleanup options. The 12.3-acre site is generally located at 1305 Cooper Point Road SW. The former landfill contaminated the groundwater with trichloroethylene (TCE).

Dynamic Food Ingredients proposes to construct and operate a new facility in Moses Lake to produce erythritol, a sugar alcohol. The proposed operation will be a demonstration plant, one tenth the size of a full scale production facility. Erythritol will be produced using an innovative electrochemical process.
