Description The purpose of this Guide is to identify how the Washington State Department of Ecology will implement in-lieu fee (ILF) mitigation. This guide is meant, primarily, to provide assistance to qualified entities (e.g., local governments, non-profits) intending to establish ILF programs. Once established, ILF programs provide a potential option for permittees with unavoidable development impacts who need to satisfy requirements for compensatory mitigation. This guide supersedes the information regarding in-lieu fee mitigation found in “Wetland Mitigation in Washington State – Part 1: Agency Policies and Guidance” (see Related Publications).
REQUEST A COPY The mission of the Department of Ecology is to protect, preserve, and enhance Washington’s environment. To help us meet that goal, please consider the environment before you print or request a copy.
