Description The Washington Departments of Fish and Wildlife, Ecology and Transportation, with participation from interested tribes, have cooperatively developed this guidance in order to improve the ecological benefits from compensatory mitigation for project impacts to wetlands, water quality, and fish and wildlife habitat. The intent of this guidance is to represent consensus on mitigation policy among the disciplines and the agencies responsible for evaluating, approving, implementing and enforcing aquatic resource mitigation.
NOTES: This policy guidance has been incorporated into and is now superseded by the information in our 2006 interagency wetland mitigation guidance. Please refer to the web page link and related publications below.
REQUEST A COPY The mission of the Department of Ecology is to protect, preserve, and enhance Washington’s environment. To help us meet that goal, please consider the environment before you print or request a copy.
