Work Group Recommendations: Statewide Don’t Drip and Drive Program Report to the Legislature
Work Group Recommendations: Statewide Don’t Drip and Drive Program Report to the Legislature (Number of pages: 85) (Publication Size: 2512KB)
|Description||The Don’t Drip and Drive Program was developed as an educational program to inform vehicle owners about leaks from their cars. The program encourages drivers to check for and repair leaks which helps prevent stormwater contamination.
Department of Ecology supported a work group to consider issues related to the possible statewide expansion of the Don’t Drip and Drive Program. The members of the work group represented local governments, state agencies, industry representatives, and non-profit organizations.
The main recommendation from the work group is that the Washington Stormwater Center should take the lead as managing entity for an expanded statewide Don’t Drip and Drive Program, working closely with ASA Northwest1 to implement the program. Their work should be overseen by a robust steering committee comprised of state agencies, local jurisdictions, and non-profit organizations.
