Description This Policy provides guidance to Washington State Department of Ecology staff. The guidance addresses when and how to exercise their authority under the Model Toxics Control Act to enter into a consent decree (a type of settlement) with a potentially liable person or prospective purchaser.

REVISION NOTE: In April 2018, the boilerplate in Attachment A of this Policy was updated. Aside from a new revision date and updated links to Ecology web pages, no other changes were made to this Policy since it was established December 2016.
REQUEST A COPY The mission of the Department of Ecology is to protect, preserve, and enhance Washington’s environment. To help us meet that goal, please consider the environment before you print or request a copy.
