Description This Policy provides guidance to Washington State Department of Ecology staff. The guidance addresses when and how to exercise their authority under the Model Toxics Control Act to enter into a consent decree (a type of settlement) with a potentially liable person or prospective purchaser.

The online version of this Policy was revised March 2017 to include formerly missing Attachment A (Consent Decree Boilerplate). No other changes were made to this Policy since it was established December 2016.
