|Description||The lower section of the Little Spokane River is in Category 5 of the 303(d) list for PCBs in fish tissue. This study evaluated current PCB levels in fish to validate the 303(d) listing. Sediment and water were also analyzed.
PCB levels in fish tissue ranged from 3.85 to 62.4 ug/kg. Fish samples exceeded (did not meet) the National Toxics Rule human health criteria (NTR=5.3 ug/kg), so the river must remain on the 303(d) list.
PCB levels in sediment were below (met) the cleanup objective (110 ug/kg) in WAC 173-204. PCB levels in water were below (met) chronic (0.014 ug/L) and acute (2 ug/L) aquatic life criteria.
Appendix B is available under Win Zip above.
