Lead Wheel Weights Are Banned
Lead Wheel Weights Are Banned (Number of pages: 1) (Publication Size: 195KB)
|Description||You must use non-lead wheel weights to balance tires in Washington. Since January 2011, using lead wheel weights is prohibited under state law (RCW 70.270). Lead wheel weights cause soil and water pollution when they fall off.
Steel, zinc, and composite weights are all legal. Ask your supplier for assurance that their weights meet the requirements of the law.
When you remove lead wheel weights, you must recycle them properly. Visit Ecology’s web page for locations.
