400 Area Waste Management Unit Operating Unit Group 16 (OUG-16)
[TSD ID#: S-4-2] Located near Hanford’s Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF), the unit’s purpose is to store sodium from the FFTF. The 400 Area has two storage areas: an indoor Fuel Storage Facility and an outdoor pad for storage of large objects. The waste it stores is sodium, sodium-hydroxide, sodium-potassium, and debris contaminated with them.
