207-A South Retention Basin Closure Unit Group 9 (CUG-9)
[ TSD ID#: S-2-7] Located south of the 242-A Evaporator in the 200 East Area, it was a manmade surface impoundment with three cells that could hold up to 70,000 gallons. The basins operated from 1977 to 1989, and held contaminated liquids before they were discharged to a crib. Because this unit is concrete and was lined, it may be possible to clean close it.
