The “view electronic documents” link on the right shows where you can find a proposal to remove the environmental covenant from this site and the documents that support this decision including the current environmental covenant for the site, a draft No Further Action letter and the cleanup report that describes how cleanup is complete.  Please review the fact sheet for more information about the cleanup and how to send comments to Ecology.
After the comment period ends, Ecology will respond to any comments.  We may require further sampling or cleanup based on information given by the public. Otherwise, the Environmental Covenant will be removed from this site.

Thorough site studies and cleanup conducted during the period of 1988 to 2015 identified contamination associated with releases of  gasoline, diesel, oil, benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene, arsenic chromium, lead, and mercury into the soil and groundwater. Recent actions to complete cleanup at this former automobile dealership removed remaining residual contamination from soil and groundwater.  The environmental covenant restricted domestic use of groundwater for personal use or food gardening due to residual contamination.  The cleanup included excavation of the contaminated soil and transport of the soil off-site to a permitted facility. Ecology has reviewed the cleanup work and determined that the cleanup actions at the site meet state cleanup standards, that no further action is needed and the covenant no longer applies.
The Site was cleaned up under the Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP). Under the VCP, participants can clean up contamination to meet the state cleanup standards under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Washington’s hazardous waste cleanup law.  Ecology provides technical and regulatory review assistance through the VCP.  Ecology has determined that the Site cleanup meets the requirements of state cleanup regulations and no longer poses a threat to human health or the environment.

Documents pertaining to the site can be found under the "View Electronic Documents" link located in the right column.  You can also review site documents at the King County Library System-Bellevue or at the Department of Ecology Headquarters in Lacey as listed in the fact sheet.
