Abstract:
The Wetlands Inventory was carried out for the Washington State Department of Ecology by the NOAA Coastal Services Center under EPA grant funding. The inventory is based on a land cover classification analyzed according to the NOAA’s Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) protocol to determine land cover.The Department of Ecology created the Wetlands Inventory by extracting the wetlands land cover classifications from the overall land cover layer. The following classifications were extracted for the Wetlands Inventory:

Estuarine Emergent Wetland
Estuarine Forested Wetland
Estuarine Scrub/Shrub Wetland
Palustrine Aquatic Bed
Palustrine Emergent Wetland
Palustrine Forested Wetland
Palustrine Scrub/Shrub Wetland
Water
Unconsolidated Shore

Potentially Disturbed Wetlands were classified by a high wetland probability rating that indicated the likelihood of a wetland occurring at a specific location despite Landsat imagery indicating another land cover (e.g., Cultivated, Pasture/Hay, Grassland, Bare land).
Purpose:
To inform likelihood of wetland and assess areas for potential wetland impacts, mitigation, or restoration.
