Station description

The Chiwaukum Creek watershed is 32,000 acres in size and flows into the Wenatchee River near the head of Tumwater Canyon at RM 35.6, located northwest of the town of Leavenworth. Most of the drainage lies within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness and is essentially unmanaged. Salmonid use of Chiwaukum Creek occurs in the lower reach and alluvial fan which supports Chinook and steelhead spawning and rearing. This location is also a TMDL water quality monitoring site.
