Add data layers or data themes to the map.
To open map contents, click the Contents tab at the top of the map.
See how map data is rendered.
  • Show layer information by clicking

To open the legend, click the Contents tab at the top of the map.
Select data, draw graphics, measure distances and more.
To open the toolbar, click the Tools tab at the top of the map.
Pan - Provides basic navigation of the map.
  • Mouse down and drag: move map in desired direction.
  • Mouse-wheel forward: the map is zoomed in.
  • Mouse-wheel backward: the map is zoomed out.
  • SHIFT + mouse down and drag: the map is zoomed in.
  • SHIFT + CTRL + mouse down and drag: the map is zoomed out.
  • Mouse double-click: the map is zoomed in.
Zoom In - Zoom in to a smaller geographic area for more detail.
  • Mouse down and drag: zoom to extent of drawn box.
  • Mouse click: zoomed in and center at the clicked location.
Zoom Out - Zoom out to a larger geographic area.
  • Mouse down and drag: zoom out.
  • Mouse click: zoomed out and center at the clicked location.
Zoom Full - Click to zoom to the full extent for the state of Washington.
Zoom Last - Click to zoom to the previous map extent.
Zoom Next - Click to zoom to the next map extent.
Identify - Identify features displayed on the map.
  • Click on desired map feature: popup is shown displaying information about features at the clicked location.

  2. Select buffer distance: sets distance used to buffer shoreline.
  3. Click shoreline location: select features inside drawn polygon.
Draw Point - Draw a point graphic on the map.
  • Click on map: point graphic is drawn at the clicked location.
Draw Line - Draw a line graphic on the map.
  1. Click on map: point graphic is drawn at the clicked location.
  2. Click on map again: point graphic is drawn at the clicked location and line is drawn connecting the points.
  3. Double-click on map: finish line graphic.
Draw Polygon - Draw a polygon graphic on the map.
  1. Click on map: point graphic is drawn at the clicked location.
  2. Click on map again: point graphic is drawn at the clicked location and line is drawn connecting the points.
  3. Double-click on map: finish polygon graphic.
Measure - Measure distance between locations.
  1. Select unit of measure: sets unit of measure for measurement.
  2. Click on map: point graphic is drawn at the start location.
  3. Click on map again: point graphic is drawn at the end location and total measure is displayed.
Clear All - Click to clear all graphics and selections.
Zoom to an area, address, latitude/longitude, or Township/Range/Section.
