Find saltwater swimming beach closures/advisories
Saltwater beaches are monitored from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Washington State's Beach Environmental Assessment, Communication and Health (BEACH) Program monitors swimming beaches for health risks.

Beach closed for swimming.
Closed by the local health department or the Public Health Officer. Often due to sewage spills.

Swimming advisory.
Children, elderly, and those in ill health are advised not to swim. Increased levels of bacteria are present.

Beach open and monitored.
Bathing after swimming is recommended. Harmful bacteria may still be present.

Beach monitored seasonally.

Beach not monitored.
