Comments Module 1: Offers information and insight to determine if caregiving is a good choice for you and your family and provides foundational information to the Caregiver who already has a child placed in their home. Discussions will include an Introduction to the Child Welfare System, The Effect of Trauma, Grief and Loss on Attachment, Teamwork and Advocacy and the Effects on the Caregiving Family. Upon successful completion of Module One, there will be a one or two week break during which time participants will be asked to engage in an experiential activity, and will be guided to such an activity by the Alliance trainer/staff or their local liaison. This activity is meant to assist the participant in arriving at a decision as to whether or not to continue the training with Module Two. ********Orientation is a 3 hour strongly recommended pre-requisite to Caregiver Core Training******** Pre registering is required.
