Data Packages Available for Order

Due to major methodology changes, BRFSS data from 2010 and prior are not compatible with later years. 2011 was the first year that officially included responses from a “dual frame” (both land line and cell phone) sample. BRFSS weighting methods also changed in 2011. Important information about the BRFSS data

All data users should be aware of the following information contained in the BRFSS README file:

  • BRFSS data use responsibilities and reporting of small numbers
  • How to apply the correct weights to BRFSS responses
  • Differences between DOH’s BRFSS dataset and CDC’s release
  • Required citations and responsibilities when publishing reports
