Remarks: If you have a written burn permit from DNR, burning is allowed subject to the conditions of your permit. In most cases burning is not allowed when conditions reach a moderate or high fire danger. For silvicultural burning or burning on unimproved land you may burn piles less than 10 by 10 feet October 16 through June 30 under the Department of Natural Resources rule burning regulations. During July 1 through October 15, the piles must be less than 4 by 4 feet. If you have questions, please contact the Pacific Cascade Region office at 360-575-5089. For land clearing burning, please contact Olympic Region Clean Air at 1-800-422-5623. For residential burning of piles larger than 4 by 4 by 3 feet, a permit is required. Call the local Fire Marshal to find out where to obtain a free permit. For piles larger than 10 by 10 by 6, please contact your local fire department.
