Chinook retention to close Aug. 4 in Marine Areas 5, 6

Action: Closure to retention of hatchery chinook in Areas 5 and 6.

Effective date: Effective 12:01 a.m. August 4, 2003.

Location: Catch record card area 5 (Sekiu) and the portion of Area 6 west of Ediz Hook at Port Angeles.

Reason for action: The fishery management quota of 3500 hatchery chinook is expected to be reached by the end of Sunday.

Other information: Both areas remain open to salmon fishing where pink and hatchery coho salmon catches should be on the increase.
