New rules take effect June 5 on South Fork Stillaguamish above Granite Falls

Action: Fishing regulations on the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River from the Mountain Loop Highway Bridge (above Granite Falls) upstream will include catch and release, except two hatchery steelhead may be retained when that portion of the river opens June 5. Selective gear rules will apply, and fishing from a floating device with a motor is prohibited.

Effective Dates: June 5, through Sept. 30, 2010

Species affected: All game fish species.

Location: The South Fork of the Stillaguamish River from the Mountain Loop Highway Bridge above Granite Falls upstream.

Additional information: Aug. 1 through Sept. 30, night closure.
