FISHING RULE CHANGE

Action:
Salmon fishing in Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco) and Marine Area 2 (Westport) extended to 7 days per week beginning Friday, July 25.

12:01 a.m. July 25, 2003

Chinook and coho

Marine Areas 1 and 2
Reason for action:
Sufficient numbers of chinook and coho remain on the quotas to increase opportunity and allow the fishery to continue through the end of the season.
Other information:
The bag limit remains unchanged at 2 salmon, no more than one chinook and wild coho release. The minimum size for chinook remains at 26 inches and 16 inches for coho. Marine Area 2-1 and Marine Area 2-2 west of the Buoy 13 line will also open 7 days per week beginning July 25 and continue through August 15 when permanent regulations listed in the sport fishing pamphlet take effect.
