Sport halibut season re-opens Sept. 15 in Marine Area 1

Action: Open recreational fishing for halibut in Marine Area 1 for one day, Saturday Sept. 15, 2007. It is unlawful to retain bottomfish, except sablefish and Pacific cod, when halibut is on board through Sept. 30, 2007.

Effective date: Open 12:01 a.m., through 11:59 p.m. Saturday Sept. 15, 2007.

Species affected: Pacific Halibut

Location: Marine Area 1

Reason for action: There is sufficient quota remaining to open the fishery for an additional day. This rule conforms to federal action taken by Pacific Fisheries Management Council.
