Postpone opening Baker Lake to sockeye fishing

Action: Postpone opening Baker Lake to retention of sockeye salmon.

Effective date: July 7, 2021 until further notice.

Species affected: Sockeye salmon.

Location: Baker Lake (Whatcom Co): Catch record card code: 825.

Rule: Baker Lake is closed to salmon fishing.

Reason for action: As of July 7, 2021, there are not enough sockeye in Baker Lake to provide meaningful opportunity.

Additional information: While Baker Lake will be closed to salmon fishing, the lake will remain open to fishing for other species as outlined in the 2021-2022 regulation pamphlet.
