FISHING RULE CHANGE
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501-1091 |
October 9, 2020
Action:
Opens salmon retention.
Effective date:
Immediately through Jan. 31, 2020
Species affected:
Salmon.
Location:
Palix River, from the Hwy. 101 Bridge to the mouth of the Middle Fork
Rule:
Salmon; min. size 12". Daily limit 1. Release wild Chinook. Single-point barbless hooks required. Night closure in effect.
Reason for action:
In-season observations indicate a larger than predicted return of coho to Willapa Bay and its tributaries, enough to allow for a limited retention season. This action aligns the Palix river with other regulation changes made on Oct. 2 in other Willapa drainages.
