FISHING RULE CHANGE
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501-1091 |
September 25, 2019
Action:
Closes angling for and retention of salmon and steelhead.
Effective date:
Thursday, September 26, 2019 through October 31, 2019
Species affected:
Salmon and steelhead.
Reason for action:
Fall chinook catch estimates were recently updated, including for coho directed fisheries, and will exceed the recreational share of Upriver Bright chinook allocation. The upriver steelhead run-size is below forecast and several hatchery programs within the Snake and Clearwater basins are projecting broodstock collection shortfalls. Conservation objectives are still expected to be met.
Location:
Projected line from Rocky Point on the Washington bank through Red Buoy 44 to the red navigation marker 2 at Tongue Point on the Oregon bank upstream to to Bonneville Dam.
Additional information:
All other permanent regulations apply.
