The Dalles Pool to close white sturgeon retention

Action: Anglers must release all sturgeon.

Effective date: January 7, 2019 until further notice.

Species affected: White sturgeon.

Location: Columbia River from The Dalles Dam to John Day Dam.

Reason for action: Current harvest rates indicate this measure is necessary in order to stay within the 135 sturgeon harvest quota.

Additional information: Catch-and-release fishing for sturgeon will continue to be allowed.
