FISHING RULE CHANGE

Action:
Deep River (Wahkiakum County) will reopen to spring chinook, steelhead and shad angling.
Effective date:
Thursday, May 20 at 12:01 a.m. (Regulations revert back to the permanent fishing regulations for all species on May 20 ( see the WDFW sport fishing rules pamphlet).
Species affected:
Chinook salmon, steelhead, and shad.
Location:
Deep River (Wahkiakum County).
Reason for action:
ESA-listed upriver spring chinook are expected to have cleared the area.
Other information:
Under permanent fishing regulations (listed on page 35 of the current WDFW sport fishing rules pamphlet) the area from the river mouth up to the town bridge is open to salmon fishing. The daily bag limit is six salmon (no more than two adults). Wild chinook must be released through July 31.
