FISHING RULE CHANGE
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501-1091 |
December 2, 2015
Action:
Opens the Green (Duwamish) River, from the mouth of Cristy Creek (at Flaming Geyser State Park) to the water pipeline walk bridge (1/2 mile downstream of Tacoma Headworks Dam), to fishing for trout and other game fish through Jan. 31, 2016.
Effective dates:
Dec. 2, 2015, through Jan. 31, 2016.
Species affected:
Trout and other game fish.
Locations and closure dates:
Green (Duwamish) River in King County: from the mouth of Cristy Creek (at Flaming Geyser State Park) to the water pipeline walk bridge (1/2 mile downstream of Tacoma Headworks Dam), open to fishing for trout (minimum size 14 inches, daily limit 2) and other game fish (statewide minimum size/daily limit) through Jan. 31, 2016.
Reasons for action:
This upper section of the Green River had been closed to protect spawning chinook and coho salmon. With the return of chinook and coho to the Green River considered complete, this regulation re-opens the area for retention of winter hatchery steelhead through Jan. 31, 2016.
Other Information:
Anglers are reminded that existing regulations for the lower Green River remain in place: from the mouth of the Green River upstream to the mouth of Cristy Creek (at Flaming Geyser State Park), the daily limit is 3 adult salmon, release chinook and coho, through Dec. 31.
