FISHING RULE CHANGE
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE 600 Capitol Way North, Olympia, WA 98501-1091 |
February 13, 2013
Action:
The sport clam fishing season at Dosewallips State Park will open on April 1, 2013.
Effective date:
Dosewallips State Park: April 1 through August 15, 2013.
Species affected:
All clams.
Location:
Dosewallips State Park, in area defined by boundary markers and signs posted on the beach. This beach is located in Jefferson County near Brinnon.
Reason for action:
Recreational effort increased significantly in 2012, and the state clam share was overharvested, requiring WDFW to shorten the season by 3 1/2 months in 2013. Oysters remain open year-round on this beach.
