Action:
Close Baker Lake to the retention of sockeye
Effective dates:
Sept. 12, 2011
Species affected:
Sockeye salmon
Location:
Baker Lake, upstream of the log boom barrier in front of upper Baker Dam to the mouth of the Baker River.
Reasons for action:
Baker Lake sockeye are no longer of sufficient quality to attract interest by anglers, and are moving toward spawning areas in anticipation of spawning activity.
Other information:
All other fishing regulations remain in effect as listed in the 2011/2012 Fishing in Washington, sport fishing rules pamphlet. Anglers are reminded to release all bull trout.
