Resourceand Transition Fairs

If your student is nearing graduation and you are concerned about planning for life after high school, consider attending a  transition or resource fair.  Many school districts hold transition of resource fairs in the spring.  These events are a great way to learn about the options for preparing for a successful transition or to connect with resources in your local community.

Information and employment, social security, family support and other topics are often available at these events.  The high school years bass by quickly, so even you feel you're not quite ready for transition, attending can be worth your time.

To find out if there is a transition or resource fair in your area, you can contact your school, school district, or county DD Coordinator.  Or you can to go the IFBT Calendar page and select "Resource/Transition" fair from the Event Category drop-down box. (2/11/14)
