Free Training:

Funded by the Verizon Foundation, the Florida State University developed a free online program geared toward the prevention of officer-involved domestic violence. The National Prevention Toolkit on Officer-Involved Domestic Violence is available to law enforcement officers in Washington.

Training Officers:
  Use the “Contact Us” for to obtain your initial login.  Florida State University’s Institute for Family Violence will send you the initial login for the program.  The WSCJTC recognizes each module of the program as 1 CE each toward the continuing education mandate of RCW 43.101.095.  This training will be logged at the agencies and not by the WSCJTC.

An initiative funded under contract by the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Apply today for a free subscription to Law Enforcement Online, an eLearning Library funded by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. You will have access to 200 online courses which you can complete directly on your computer. Many of these courses are certified for in-service credit by POST (Peace Officer Standards & Training) agencies.

Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center UDETC: In December of 2010 the UDETC began offering distance learning opportunities featuring courses that present best practices and strategies for enforcement of underage drinking laws and efforts to reduce underage drinking. Funded by an OJJDP grant, these web-based, on-line courses are designed to provide basic information to the participant and serve as a foundation for on-site training provided by the UDETC. Participants can receive a certificate upon completion of one of these courses.


The Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI) Line Officer Training provides frontline law enforcement personnel with training to supplement their observation skills in recognizing behaviors and incidents that may indicate criminal activity associated with, or leading up to, terrorism. The training focuses on the critical role line officers have in the effective implementation of the SAR process by identifying - and documenting - suspicious activity.

The National Institute of Corrections has numerous online courses posted on its learning center. Topics include budgetary considerations, strategic thinking, green business, motivating others, managing conflict, and team building. The courses are free for corrections professionals in executive and middle management, first-line supervision, offender programming, or training/staff development. (NIC)
