JUVENILE CORRECTIONS PROBATION ACADEMY - PROBATION (JCPA-PRB #1416)

This website is currently under construction.  Please be patient while we update our site.

As of December 2014, Juvenile Detention/Corrections Officers and Juvenile Probation Counselors will attend the academy together.  This new academy combined and replaced the Juvenile Corrections Officers Academy (JCOA) and Juvenile Services Academy (JSA).  Detention and Probation officers will now partially train together in order to lower expenses for agencies and increase networking between detention and probation services.

JCPA Probation is for personnel working with juveniles whose primary job function is the case management of offenders, including assessment, case planning, counseling, supervision, and monitoring Detention officers.  JCPA Probation is combined with the CMAP class to comprise 80 hours of training over 2 weeks.  Probation officers may attend the academy for 40 hours or 80 hours as approved by their agency and the Academy Commander, and based on their job title and description.  Pre-approval to only attend week 1 must be finalized prior to the selection date for the academy.
