This class is 80 hours in length and is designed to provide training for entry-level juvenile justice employees responsible for the care, custody and safety of youth housed in county and state facilities, and who also carry a counseling caseload. Representative job classes include but are not limited to, Juvenile Detention Workers with caseload responsibilities, Juvenile Corrections Officers with caseload responsibilities, Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselors 1 and 2.

2. Applicants are registered by date of receipt. A registration letter will be sent out via email to the Training Manager/Supervisor once the application is processed.
3. Acceptance letters will be sent out via email to the Training Manager/Supervisor once the selection process has been completed.
4. Billing is completed once the academy session is complete. Please see below for details;
*Effective July 1, 2014 WSCJTC was mandated by legislature to bill a 25% cost-share to our stakeholders for each academy student. The cost-per-student varies based on total program cost. A memorandum (PDF) explaining the cost-share implementation was distributed via email on March 30, 2014. Private Contractors & Tribal Agencies will be billed for the full-cost of Academy services. Prerequisite: This Academy is for Juvenile Residential Rehabilitation Counselors (JRRC), Juvenile Rehabilitation Community Counselors (JRCC), Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor Assistants (JRCA), Juvenile Rehabilitation Security Officers (JRSO), Juvenile Rehabilitation Coordinators (JRC) and Juvenile Rehabilitation Supervisors (JRS).
