This class is 80 hours in length and is designed to provide training for entry-level juvenile justice employees responsible for the care, custody and safety of youth housed in county and state facilities, and who also carry a counseling caseload. Representative job classes include but are not limited to, Juvenile Detention Workers with caseload responsibilities, Juvenile Corrections Officers with caseload responsibilities, Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselors 1 and 2.

1. Agency sends in application to Registrar at
or fax 206.835.7922.
2. Registrar processes application and sends Registration Letter to applicant’s Training Manager, Agency Administrator and Supervisor listed on the application.
3. Four (4) weeks prior to academy starting, Acceptance Letter sent to Training Manager, Agency Administrator and Supervisor listed on the application.
4. Billing is completed after the Academy. Only Tribal agencies are billed for Academy services.
Prerequisite: This Academy is for juvenile residential rehabilitation counselors, juvenile rehabilitation community counselors, juvenile rehabilitation counselor assistants, juvenile rehabilitation security officers, juvenile rehabilitation coordinators, and juvenile rehabilitation supervisors
