CD and DVD Training All of these free training opportunities are open to Washington law enforcement agencies and can be used to meet the 24 hour mandated training requirement for peace officers in Washington State. Category 3 - The Terrorist Screening Center (15 minutes): The Terrorist Watchlist contains thousands of records that are updated daily and shared with federal, state, local, territorial, tribal law enforcement, and Intelligence Community members as well as international partners to ensure that individuals with links to terrorism are appropriately screened. You already have access. Produced by the FBI Terrorist Screening Center - this DVD instructs officers how to read and respond to advisory messages ('hits'). This system works by supporting the ability of front-line screening agencies to positively identify known or suspected terrorists trying to obtain visas, enter the country, board aircraft, or engage in other activity, the consolidated Terrorist Watchlist is one of the most effective counterterrorism tools for the U.S. government. Also available to WA 911 centers.
Contemporary Issues of Domestic and International Terrorism (3.0 hours): This course explores Domestic and International terrorism issues, awareness, and groups.
Eliminating Bias from Policing:
Excited Delirium (15 mins): produced by the Seattle Police Department this DVD shows signs and symptoms of those that may succumb to Excited Delirium after or during an arrest.
Human Trafficking (FLETC, DHS 30 minutes): This course explains human trafficking through live-action scenarios, taken from real cases, as well as interactive exercises and knowledge checks. Provides state, local, tribal and campus law enforcement with information about how to identify signs and indicators of human trafficking they may encounter during their routine duties. Explains what immigration relief is available to victims of human trafficking through the use of “Continued Presence” and T&U visas.
The Invisible Victims (30 mins): Human Trafficking Overview for Law Enforcement produced by the Seattle Police Department in partnership with the Refugee Women’s Alliance; this DVD adds another perspective to the Human Trafficking problem.
This course provides law enforcement officials with an overview of Sikh American cultural practices, describes the articles of faith and explores common misconceptions of the faith, along with discussing strategies and best practices to use in non-emergency situations when interacting with the community.
Missing Persons Investigations (4 hours if used with the in-service roll-call training option): The Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains Task Force in partnership with the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission has developed this toolbox to be used by law enforcement agencies to provide training on Missing Persons Investigations. This CD offers training broken down into modules that can be used in roll call or classroom centered training. This toolbox will give officers and field supervisors the basic knowledge and guidance to appropriately respond to the challenge of a missing person case.
