PURPOSE OF THIS FORM

This registration form is issued pursuant to Section 3(5) of ESSB 6002 (Chapter 239, Laws of 2026), which requires all state and local agencies that operate or intend to operate an automated license plate reader (ALPR) system to register that system with the Office of the Attorney General. By completing and submitting this form, the head of the registering agency certifies that: (1) the ALPR system meets all requirements established under ESSB 6002; (2) the agency has adopted a policy or policies governing the use of the system; and (3) the agency has implemented a documented training process for all officers and personnel who will operate the system. Agencies may not operate an ALPR system that has not been registered in accordance with this requirement.

NOTICE OF CONTINUING OBLIGATION TO UPDATE

Registration is an ongoing obligation. If there are material changes to the information provided in this registration form, the agency must promptly submit a new registration form with the updated information. Outdated or inaccurate registration information may affect the agency's authority to operate an ALPR system under state law.
