Example of Remittance and Status Report

Remittance and Status Reports (RA) are your tool to find out the status of your claim.  Remittance and status reports are sent to you weekly if you have claims in our system.  With your report you also receive news from Medical Assistance.  Use this link to view newsletters sent to our providers.

If you don't get a claims RA or if you don't know how to use it, contact us.  We will be happy to help you.

Explanation of Benefit (EOB) Codes are listed on your report and explain why your claim was paid or denied.  MAA has 999 codes.  These codes change frequently and will be replaced by new HIPAA codes.

Use this link to view a list of EOB codes and their description.  Select the bookmarks tab at the far left of your screen to open the numerical series you are looking for.  Select the number series to view the code and description.  You may also use your ctrl and f keyboard key to search and find.  Below is an example of what you will see.

Use this link to find our General Billing Instructions.  After you accept the agreement, select Billing Instructions.  A description of the Remittance and Status Report can be found in the General Information Booklet.  Below is an example of what the report looks like.
