American Academy of Pediatrics - SCHIP site describes the APA's goals for SCHIP implementation. Families USA - is one of the most active healthcare lobbies. Their site has updates on new developments, as well as an e-mail notification list. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services - provides detailed information on SCHIP legal and policy requirements. Insure Kids Now - is the national clearinghouse for SCHIP and provides a nice overview of the program, its goals, and descriptions of state programs. National Academy for State Health Policy - NASHP works to disseminate information designed to assist states in the development of practical, innovative solutions to complex health policy issues Urban Institute - recently published a report providing detailed information on the numbers of uninsured children and the early impact of SCHIP. Outreach to Children: Moving from Enrollment to Assuring Access: This monograph, by the National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health (NCEMCH), details best practices to find eligible children, facilitate enrollment and assure access. USDA's Free Nutrition Service site contains information about the Free and Reduced School Lunch program. The site also offers a sample application and cover letter schools can use to encourage families to seek health care coverage.
