Remarks: Follow permit conditions or rule burn regulations. The DNR in cooperation with the local county Fire Marshal and Fire Districts has reduced the fire danger rating. Landowners need to follow all outdoor burning regulations and requirements, a reminder that the use of burn barrels is illegal. October 16 2008 through June 30 2009, a pile size of 10 feet does not require a permit. Only 1 pile can be burned at one time, you must be in attendance, a significant fire break around pile which is free of flammable material, burn in calm to light winds, a shovel and 5 gallons of water or hose must be present. Pile MUST be out before lighting another. To apply for a silvicultural burn permit call the DNR Dispatch at (509) 884-3473. To obtain outdoor residential or agriculture burn permits contact the Department of Ecology at (509) 329-3400 or your local fire district.
